The coronavirus pandemic has given most us more time on our hands, and while there should be no pressure to use it usefully because it's an extremely stressful situation, some are using it to get creative.

You might, for instance, take inspiration from this guy who built an adorable mini picnic table for the squirrels in his yard.

Rick Kalinowski was more than aware that his furry neighbors were willing to eat their snacks wherever they happened to find them, but because he loved watching them frolic around his yard so much, he decided to offer them another option.

Kalinowski created the adorable picnic table using some spare wood that he had lying around. Afterwards, he nailed it to his fence before laying out a spread of nuts, and it wasn't long before the squirrels in his yard tucked in.

He subsequently posted pictures of his creation to the Facebook group All About Squirrels, where it understandably went viral, and at the time of writing, it has had over 279K shares and 22K likes.

Against the odds, late last year, this lucky squirrel was rescued from Hurricane Issac:

In an interview with The Dodo, Kalinowski said: "I really believe they love it."

"I appreciate them and they appreciate me," Kalinowski said.

One impressed fan of Kalinowski's creation wrote on Facebook: "Someone is pretty clever... I have seen a birdfeeder that is shaped with stools and a bar... but this picnic table is the greatest."

A second remarked: "This is the best thing ever. I can't even handle the cuteness."

A third added: "Think I will build that, lot easier than the people version."

Because of the popularity of the table, Kalinowski decided to make his creation available to others, and he is now selling squirrel picnic tables, assembled and unassembled, on Esty.

These squirrels, however, are not the only animals whose lives have changed as a result of the pandemic. One very good doggo went viral after being assigned the important task of retrieving Cheetos from the store for his owner!
