In a news story that could only really happen in Florida, a neighbor called the police after hearing a "screaming woman" in a man's house - only to discover that it was, in fact, a pet parrot.

The entire hilarious incident was captured on the man's security camera and is a testament to the fact that if you're worried about something, you should call the police. If it's nothing, everybody can laugh about it afterward.

As per ViralHog, officers arrived at the Lake Worth Beach home just before New Year's Eve when the man was repairing his wife's car. As he worked, he was approached by four officers, worried that something sinister was taking place inside his property.

Moments later, he then goes inside to retrieve a 40-year-old parrot named Rambo.

"Rambo, meet the boys in green," he said before Rambo went on to show the officers a number of tricks.

The man explained that he has owned the parrot since he was a child, and back then, he decided to teach Rambo a rather concerning phrase (kids will be kids).

"Sometimes Rambo yells 'help, help, let me out.' Something I taught him when I was a kid and Rambo lived in a cage," the man said.

Needless to say, the man was shocked when law enforcement arrived but said that they all had a good laugh about the misunderstanding - he also took Rambo to meet the neighbor who originally called in the 'emergency'.

He also took the parrot to the neighbor to explain where the screaming was really coming from.

This parrot was 'arrested' after it alerted his owner that the police were coming:

Needless to say, the footage garnered quite a bit of attention on YouTube.

One commenter wrote: "I love the story behind why he screams for help xD now he's a free bird sitting on his perch and not in a cage. True love."

A second added: "The dog is the one that is loud."

Meanwhile, a third commenter rightfully wrote: "Nobody's saying it, but good job on the neighbor that called it in. Too many people are abused and the bystander effect takes over and nobody does anything to try to get victims help. This was a totally benign situation that was easily explained to cops without problem, but it could have saved a person's life had it been something serious."
