Terrifying footage shows the moment crocodile attacks tourist
Australia's Cape Tribulation, in Queensland, is a hotspot for tourists and backpackers travelling through the country, coming from all over to see the rainforest region. But one British tourist had a less than ideal experience when she was unexpectedly attacked as she stood on the bank of a creek.
The Cairns Post reported that the woman, a 24-year-old from the UK named Leah, managed to escape after incident last week. While she survived without major injuries, she did get a nasty-looking bite on her upper leg that looks incredibly painful.
Her friend later posted a photo of the aftermath, which has gone viral, alongside the video of the moment she was attacked. A spokesperson from the Queensland Department of Environment and Heritage Protection (EHP) said the crocodile was estimated to be 2 to 2.5 metres long.
As you can imagine, this would hurt like hell. Most of us will kick up a fuss over something as small as a mosquito bite, but this a whole new level. You can see the moment the crocodile viciously attacked her in the video below:
Following this latest incident, Queensland's Department of Environment and Heritage Protection have announced they will be carrying out overnight searches to trace the crocodile, which has now been deemed dangerous, and intend to remove it from the area.
How this crocodile managed to stealthily approach her is creepy enough, but after how close she came to becoming its dinner, I'm betting Leah is thankful she got out relatively unscathed, all things considered.
