In a heartwarming story that is probably what all of us need to see right now, a dog is becoming a neighborhood hero by delivering groceries to people currently in self-isolation.

Sunny the golden retriever has become a fury hero, as he is not only bringing groceries to his neighbors, but he is also spreading smiles amid these uncertain times.

Sunny's owner, Karen Eveleth of Manitou Springs, Colorado, decided to transform her gorgeous seven-year-old retriever into a deliverer as a way of helping their neighbor of 10 years, Renee Hellman.

Due to the fact that Renee suffers from underlying respiratory issues, she is sensibly self-isolating during the ongoing pandemic - meaning she is unable to visit the store for her essential groceries.

Therefore, Karen offered to collected Renee's goods for her, and then uses the reliable Sunny to deliver the groceries right to their neighbor's door. In return, Sunny gets lots of well-deserved pats.

Speaking to KKTV, Renee revealed how Sunny's visits have been imrpoving her days while in self-isolation, saying:

"What a wonderful thing, just a sweet thing. So he started doing the schlepping, back and forth. It’s been fun, it’s been a real treat.

"Little things like Sunny coming over to visit is nice, and it makes you feel good. It’s a way of communicating."

Karen is now hoping that Sunny's good deeds can help to encourage others to do more for people in need, saying: "Anybody can do something small, that can be so helpful".

And we completely agree! During these uncertain and anxious times, reach out to one another and to what you can to spread joy and not germs. But remember, just like Renee, please do so while practicing good social distancing and self-isolate if you have been required to do so.

We are urging all of our readers to adhere to the advice from their respective governments and medical bodies, and practice social distancing and self-isolation where required. Together, we will beat this...
