Blac Chyna sues the Kardashian family
That's right, she's still in the news.
You may have heard that Kylie Jenner and Rob Kardashian were suing Black Chyna for allegedly trying to strange Rob with an iPhone cord. That's still on the table. But now, Blac Chyna is suing them back - because why not? She's already profited immensely off the negligence and naivety of Rob Kardashian. Why not go in for more?
A court filing alleges that the Kardashian family damaged Chyna's brand and subjected her to verbal and physical abuse. The verbal and physical abuse will be up for debate, but her brand? Come on. Nobody knew who Blac Chyna was until she started dating Rob Kardashian. She was then only known for dating Tyga. And then Kanye just had to go ahead and mention Chyna and Rob in his song Highlights last February, on The Life of Pablo, "Blac Chyna f***ing Rob, help him with the weight". Now she's everywhere. The power of Kanye and Kardashian plugs I guess.
What else is in this lawsuit? Well, the complaint says that: “Rob Kardashian is an abuser intent on destroying Angela White [Chyna's birth name], the mother of his baby, who left him in 2016. In revenge, the Kardashian-Jenner family became media predators, slut-shaming her on social media and killing her hit television show, which had already begun filming a second season.”
Yes, releasing nude photos of the mother of your child is not quite slut shaming, but rather revenge porn. But the lawsuit names all members of the Kardashian family, from Kim to Kylie, as complicit in this great conspiracy against Chyna. Well, if my brother got a shameless opportunist pregnant and then went nuts on social media when she inevitably left him, I'd probably hate them both. But in the end, you'd have to come back to your brother for support, right? It's family.
The only really substantive part of the lawsuit is a part where Chyna alleges that Rob stopped her from calling her ex, Tyga, when he “immediately grabbed the phone from her hand and violently knocked her to the ground where she landed on her hands and knees.”
That's pretty bad. However, Rob and Kylie allege that Chyna lied about the entire encounter. Instead, they say Chyna was drinking and doing cocaine all night, well into the morning, and assaulted Rob when he confronted her about her drug abuse. Chyna also allegedly brought a stripper home to continue doing cocaine. What is the truth here?
The lawsuit reads:
“Rob Kardashian and his powerful, vindictive family have done enough damage to Ms. White’s career and professional reputation, which she singlehandedly built from scratch—without the help of a famous last name. This lawsuit seeks to hold them accountable."
Ha. "Singlehandedly built from scratch". Yeah...no comment...
Lisa Bloom will be representing Blac Chyna, and Bloom was also set to represent Harvey Weinstein, but dropped out of his legal counsel due to public pressure. Here's the thing about lawyers: they'll use any political, emotional or underhanded forces in society to build a case. Lisa Bloom may very well believe absolutely nothing, but she champions herself as an advocate against slut-shaming by representing Chyna.
What is all the slut-shaming? Is that really a precise description of leaking revenge porn? What do you think of this lawsuit, Chyna, and the Kardashians?
