Cardi B has come to be known for her tattoos. She has a large, colourful peacock piece that stretches from her waist to her knee, a cheetah on her left hip, and "loyalty over royalty" written on her right bicep.
How could we possibly know what any of these markings mean? Thankfully, Cardi B's newest tattoo is a little less cryptic.
While performing at Mid-State Fair show in Paso Robles, the rapper revealed that she recently got two new tattoos. One was covered in tape on her butt, hiding underneath her fishnets. It was the perfect accessory to her denim, bejewelled leotard.
The other, which her husband Offset posted on his Instagram, is a tribute to him. His name is now written in cursive on the back of Cardi B's thigh, which makes perfect sense. She already has her ex-boyfriend's name on her left wrist and her sister's on her left inner arm. Obviously, Cardi has a way of commemorating those who she loves.
Offset posted a photo of his wife revealing her new ink to him over FaceTime with the caption: "CAN'T WAIT TO GET HOME."
It's honestly about time that Cardi B permanently marked her husband's name on her body, especially given that he already has a tattoo in tribute to her. Last year, the Migos rapper got a Powerpuff Girl on his neck with "Cardi B" written underneath it.
Cardi's love for body modifications doesn't stop with ink, though. Earlier this month, she revealed on Instagram that she'd gotten several new piercings. In a video she posted praising other female rappers, Cardi showed off her new nose, tongue, lip and neck piercings.
While we don't yet know what Cardi's butt tattoo is, I can't wait for the big reveal. I hope it's a detailed portrait of Offset's face. After all, there's nothing like tattoos to keep a couple together.
