Our society is in thrall to the notion of celebrity.

Ne'r an item of clothing, piece of jewelry or new lip kit may be purchased without the endorsement of one's celebrity of choice these days, and as such the rich and famous are finding Instagram an extremely profitable tool in it's own right.

Companies, too, have cottoned on to the fact that celebrity endorsement could send their sales through the stratosphere and as such pay the famous (mainly members of the Kardashian/Jenner family) handsomely for the privilege of being aligned with their brand.

Most young people too these days seem to harbour ambitions of celebrity, without so much as a second thought as to what talent they will nurture in order to get there. The rise of reality television and the glossy, filtered corridors of Instagram mean that it is no longer necessary to have any discernible talent to achieve fame and fortune, merely a benevolent gene pool and the latest iPhone will suffice.

Having said that, most of the more notable and adored public personas even today take the form of talented actors and musicians.

Today, there are few more instantly recognizable faces on the planet than Jennifer Lawrence. The actress shot to fame as a consequence of movie roles in films like Silver Linings Playbook, the Hunger Games saga and many many more. While she received something of a backlash recently over entirely unfounded claims that she might have played apart in the breakup of Chris Pratt and Anna Farris' marriage, J-Law is basically adored by practically everyone in the world.

There are, then, worse people to look like than the dazzlingly beautiful and incredibly talented actress.

And would you believe it, but one teenager looks so much like Lawrence that she routinely gets stopped for autographs and showered with phrase from an adoring public who believe her to be J-Law herself. It's not hard to see why.

Speaking of her doppleganger-like similarity to Lawrence, 17-year-old Florida teenager Alexia Maier said;

"At first I thought it was a joke when people started saying I looked like Jennifer Lawrence.

"But when I started getting dozens of comments about my J-Law similarities, I started to realise it myself.

"In my hometown, people know they're not going to see a real celebrity.

"So I've been told I look like her, but never confused. But when visiting New York, people will ask me for autographs.

"I think one of my favourite examples is when a woman said 'Jennifer, I'm your biggest fan!'.

"I told her, 'I'm not Jennifer!' but the woman immediately said, 'Are you sure?' I'll never forget her reaction. At first it was surprise, then awe, then disappointment."

In a stunning twist, though, Maier apparently isn't a fan of Jennifer Lawrence herself, admitting;

"I know this is not the answer people are expecting from me.

"But I am not a fan.

"Even so, I can acknowledge that Jennifer has definitely impacted my life in strange ways. I got a lot of attention in the first couple years of high school because of my similarities to her."

There are definitely worse people to look like, and few better.
