'Human Ken Doll' rescued from drunken swim after lavish party at Dubai hotel
The self-dubbed 'Human Ken Doll' may have vowed to never have plastic surgery again, after he had spent a ludicrous $400,000 on transforming his looks, but it seems like Rodrigo Alves is still making stupid decisions – if his party in Dubai is anything to go by.
Alves, 34, doesn't appear too worried about splashing the cash, and on his recent holiday to Dubai he threw a massive party in his suite at the Rixos Hotel, that left him facing a $175,000 bill. According to the TV personality, 134 guests turned up to the private party which he organised, and he later had to be rescued by lifeguards after he took a swim in the sea while still being intoxicated.
Rodrigo had been in Dubai on business, where he is expected to make appearances at a range of events as well as fulfilling several TV appearances. He says that he decided he wanted to treat himself while he was on the trip and rented "the largest suite on the Palm", which cost him $50,000 for three nights.
Unsurprisingly, given the number of guests that flooded into his room, the bash was shut down by hotel staff. Talking about the soiree, Rodrigo said:
"I stayed in Dubai for over a week where I attended various events, had my Botox and fillers topped up, did a few TV shows, shopping and went to tons of parties.
"I treated myself to the largest suite with a panoramic view to the city and I had a butler who was at my service 24/7 for the three nights that I stayed at the Rixos.
"On the second night, I organised a private party where I had a few local friends, celebrities and Arabic royals. I personally invited only 50 people, but 134 turned up leaving me with a bill of £132k!"
Rodrigo has been staying in the Grand King Suite, which had previously been stayed in by the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Busta Rhymes, Akon and French Montana. The penthouse suite is around 700sqm and includes three en-suite bedrooms, two living rooms and two maid rooms. The property also features floor-to-ceiling windows and a 360° panoramic view of Palm Jumeirah and the city skyline.
Sources close to the hotel say that the party got closed down after guests began trashing the suite and they later had to enlist the help of lifeguards in order to rescue the reality star from his early hour swim.
Talking to the Daily Mail about his late night frolics, Rodrigo said:
"I was feeling very hot and I couldn't sleep so I went for a swim in the sea, but because I'd had too much to drink at the party the lifeguards and security brought me back to shore."
Despite the six-figure-sum greeting his heavy hangover, Rodrigo says he is not bothered about the amount of money he spent.
"I live my life to the max, I love meeting new people and partying – I don't care about the money spent because the only thing that I'm taking away from this life will be the experiences I have, the places that I have been and the people that I have met."
I mean, it's a nice philosophy to live your life by – but if it results in you getting $400,000 of surgery, I think I'll pass.
