At some point in our lives, we probably all wanted to be celebrities. Whether it was the adoring fans, the limitless riches, or the chance to party with other well-known stars - there was just something about a lifestyle of fame or fortune that we found to be incredibly appealing.
Even now, as adults, we probably find ourselves getting just the tiniest bit envious when we see actors and singers attending awards ceremonies and getting showered with praise. What's more, not only do they get given a ton of freebies and luxurious food/drink for they're attending these events, they also get to go to the most insane parties afterwards.
Well, usually they do.
Sometimes, something more important will come up and they have to cancel on the opportunity to rub shoulders with Hollywood's most influential figures. And for Jennifer Lawrence, that 'something' was Emma Stone.
In a video on Facebook, Lawrence explained her absence from the Golden Globe after parties this weekend.
At the beginning of the 30-second clip, the Hunger Games star can only be seen from the side and appears to be looking at her phone. Then, a voice from behind the camera - which later transpires to be Emma Stone's - asks her, "What happened tonight?"
This prompts Lawrence to explain:
“Well you told me that you wanted me to be your date to the after parties so I got us tickets to some after parties, I booked a car and I was halfway through glam when you told me that you didn't want to go and you just wanted to come over to my house."
By this point, she had turned to the camera to reveal that only one side of her face has makeup on it, and the other is still completely bare.
Trying not to break into laughter, she adds: “So I sent my hair and make-up team home and now this is what I look like.”
She then bursts into laughter, and Stone's trademark huskiness can be heard as she giggles away from behind the camera.
Stone and Lawrence's friendship has long been known about and the pair had a rather sweet story about how they eventually found one another. They had actually been texting each other for about a year before either found the time to meet in person - but Lawrence nearly called off their meeting because she worried she was being catfished by someone pretending to be Stone.
Thankfully, Lawrence called the Easy A star to check that it was Stone that she had been chatting away with for all that time and the pair went ahead with their plans. Since then, they don't seem to have stopped hanging out.
Although they are yet to star in a film together, the pair still turn up to awards ceremonies to support one another, and spend a lot of their off-screen time just having fun. So, while celebrity life looks totally amazing, the best part of it seems to just be finding cool people to chill with.
