Kim Kardashian reveals the astonishing gift Kanye West gave her on Mother's Day for an interesting reason
Kanye West makes great music, but he can be pretty annoying. After the television broadcast of Saturday Night Live, he went on a rambling pro-Trump rant, getting boos from the studio audience. The next day, he followed that up with bizarre tweets arguing that we should "abolish" the 13th amendment (which abolished slavery). And this comes after his outrageous statement on TMZ that 400 years of slavery "sounded like a choice." Uh, what? I guess these are the kind of statements you get from a self-described "proud non-reader of books."
But everybody's multi-dimensional - even the Louis Vuitton Don. Beneath all the abrasive political rants, Kanye's got a sweet side. Recently his wife, Kim Kardashian, appeared on model Ashley Graham's podcast, Pretty Big Deal. The reality TV star told a story about how she turned down a one million dollar with a fashion brand. Why? Because Kanye felt like they "knocked off" his brand, Yeezy. Now that's dedication!
"He's like the cutest," Kim told Ashley. "A brand offered me a million dollars to do a post on some of their clothing and they typically-I don't want to say who the brand is - but they typically knock off Yeezy. Kanye said, 'No babe. I really don't want you to do that.'" Kim found that "understandable," so she agreed to pass on the deal, missing out on "a lot of money." However, she revealed that it all worked out.
"Mother's Day was, like, the next week," Kim continued. "Mother's Day comes, and he happened to be recording out of town and I get my flowers and then I get an envelope delivered to the door. I opened the envelope and it was a million dollar check with a note saying thank you for always supporting me and not posting. In the rest of the envelope, it was a contract to be an owner of Yeezy - to have my percentage. And that was my Mother's Day present."
To summarize, the woman famous for a major back end, got some major back end. Congrats! At one point, Kanye was begging multi-millionaires for money on Twitter to invest in his fashion line. Now Yeezy is an undeniable success, and he's becoming tantalizingly close to the billion dollar club. (Which will soon include his sister-in-law, Kylie Jenner.) As a result, a lot of rival brands are heavily influenced by Yeezy's style. But Kim said, "He doesn't really care." After all, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Well, maybe this explains what extremely racy comment Kim left on Kanye's Instagram photo. We only the Annoying Kanye that subjects to the world to his deeply flawed political rants. We don't see the Sweet Kanye, that repays loved ones with touching gestures for their kindness and loyalty. Ye get boos from the SNL studio audience, but when he's at home with his wife, he gets nothing but cheers.
