With so many people living in self-isolation during the coronavirus pandemic, elderly people are among the most vulnerable groups during this global crisis. But this week, Matthew McConaughey performed a heartwarming charitable gesture for some senior citizens, as he hosted a virtual bingo night for quarantined pensioners.

The Academy-Award-winning actor hosted the event via a large conference call, reading out the numbers for the game alongside his spouse Camila Alves, his two children, and his mother Kay, for the benefit of retired residents at The Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living.

On Sunday evening, the facility shared a video of their virtual bingo event, and captioned the post: "Ever play virtual bingo with #MatthewMcConaughey? You’d be a whole lot cooler if you did! The residents at The Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living got to play virtual bingo with #MatthewMcConaughey and his family. [sic]"

The caption continued: "Thank you to Matthew, his wife Camila, and his mom Kay for hosting our residents for a few rounds of virtual bingo! Our residents had a great time playing, and they loved talking with Matthew about his family heritage and his favorite drink. [sic]"

The residents later performed a sweet gesture of their own, thanking the actor for hosting the event by holding up a number of green signs, on which were a written number of quotes from some of McConaughey's most iconic movies.

For instance, one read: "Just keep living" (Dazed and Confused), another read: "I checked the list of people I trust and your name ain't on it" (The Lincoln Lawyer), and another was captioned: "If I didn't catch a fish all day I'd find a way to kill you" (Serenity).

McConaughey obviously seemed to appreciate their thoughtfulness and appeared to have a good time laughing and joking with everyone. Perhaps this could be a second job for him?

We are urging all of our readers to adhere to the advice from their respective governments and medical bodies, and practice social distancing and self-isolation where required. Together, we will beat this...
