Nicolas Cage reportedly files for annulment just four days after getting married
Nicolas Cage has reportedly filed for an annulment with his new wife, a mere four days after being photographed getting married in Las Vegas.
Cage, the 55-year-old actor who won a Best Actor Oscar for the 1995 film Leaving Las Vegas, was caught on camera earlier this week applying for a marriage license with his girlfriend, makeup artist Erika Koike, who he had been dating for about a year.
Spotted at the Clark County Court House Marriage Licence Bureau in Las Vegas late on Saturday morning, in the video, Cage can be seen walking behind his girlfriend, hands on his hips and muttering to himself.
On Thursday, though, TMZ reported that Cage had filed for an annulment, and this is backed up by Nevada court documents.
Cage has apparently requested a divorce if an annulment is not possible.
Cage and Koike were first spotted together back in April 2018, and were believed to have met while he was filming in Puerto Rico. Since then, they have been photographed together on occasion, but have largely stayed out of the spotlight. It remains to be seen if Cage and Koike are still dating.
Apart from this short-lived marriage, Nicolas Cage has been married and divorced on three separate occasions; he was with Alice Kim from 2004 to 2016, with whom he has one child in Kal-El Coppola Cage, who was born in 2005.
Cage was also married to actress Patricia Arquette from 1995 to 2001, and also had a short-lived relationship with Lisa-Marie Presley, the daughter of Elvis Presley, who he married for just three months.
