Pink asked Eminem to collaborate and he responded in the most bizarre way
Is there anything better than when your two absolute favourite musicians come together to produce a track like no other? Yes, history has seen some absolute dynamic duos, some of which that have gone down in history as legendary pairings. I mean, just think about Michael Jackson and The Notorious B.I.G, as well as Britney and Madonna and, of course, Rihanna and Drake.
It is rather rare, however, to see a new collaboration between two veritable noughties icons. But that's exactly the feat that Pink managed to pull off on her new album, Beautiful Trauma, which features none other than rap royalty Eminem.
And true to form, it would never have happened without a few glasses of wine...
Pink has had quite the year. After an electrifying performance at SNL, the 36-year-old mother of two won the respect of moms everywhere when she clapped back at so-called "mommy shamers" earlier in 2017.
And now the pop legend is finally releasing her new album, Beautiful Trauma. However, it took quite a lot of effort to get it to a place where Pink was happy with it, and a lot of that hinged on getting Eminem to come on board and collaborate on a track with her.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Pink said:
"I sneak-attacked him. Max [Martin] and I started making "Revenge", and I wrote this rap. We were drinking a lot of wine, and then I went home and I thought more wine would be a good idea."
Pink went on to explain that she would never have contacted Eminem in this manner without some "liquid courage".
"I emailed [Eminem]. This is why they call it liquid courage. And I said, ‘You know I love you. I like that you work with a lot of the same people, like Rihanna. She’s hotter than me, but I’m funnier. So I’m going for a rap Grammy, and I’d like to take you along with me."
Pink then said that despite writing a "long email", Eminem wrote back just saying "okay".
I mean, seriously? Isn't he just like every boy that you've ever texted?
"I emailed him again. I was, like, ‘This is the best thing I’ve ever heard! I want to tackle you and rub your face in the dirt!'"
But once more, Eminem wrote back, simply saying "Okay".
Eminem must be the worst texter out there, I mean, come on - you can give a little more than that, can't you Eminem?
Pink has been opening up about more than just her interchange with Eminem recently. Speaking to the Guardian, the So What singer revealed that monogamy really is "work". Speaking about her husband, Carey Hart, who she married in 2002, she said:
"There are moments where I look at [Hart] and he is the most thoughtful, logical, constant … he’s like a rock. He’s a good man. He’s a good dad. He’s just the kind of dad I thought he’d be and then some. And then I’ll look at him and go: I’ve never liked you."
Well, Pink certainly is an inspiration for many of us. Especially in the way that she handled Eminem's terrible email etiquette, I know he's Eminem and everything but it's really not that hard to string one sentence together...
