Leonardo DiCaprio has shocked social media.
Last week, the Titanic star's girlfriend Camila Morrone was papped frolicking in the waves on a St-Tropez beach with her mom, per The New York Post.
The 25-year-old looked stunning in a tiny white bikini; but it was her model mom, Lucila Solá, who stole the spotlight in a grey two-piece and chunky hoop earrings.
Solá looked so youthful in the photos that fans were prompted to find out her age. However, there was a nasty shock in store when they realized that - at 46 - Morrone's mom is a year younger than her daughter's boyfriend, 47-year-old DiCaprio.
Many took to Twitter to share their reactions to the news.
One wrote in astonishment: "Leonardo DiCaprio is older than his girlfriends mom?????? He's born in 1974 and Lucila (Camila's mom) is born in 1976???"
Another equally shocked user added: "CAMILA MORRONES MOM IS YOUNGER THAN LEONARDO DICAPRIO?!?" A third tweeted: "Thinking abt how Leonardo DiCaprio’s gf’s mom is younger than Leonardo DiCaprio omfg"
A fourth shared a GIF of a woman grimacing, writing: "When you realize Leonardo DiCaprio is older than his girlfriend’s mom."
DiCaprio has developed something of a reputation for dating models who are decades younger than him. Before he hooked up with Morrone in 2017, the Wolf of Wall Street star dated a string of models in their early 20s including Kelly Rohrbach, Nina Agdal, and Lorena Rae.
In 2019, a chart showing the actor's dating history went viral. The graph - which was put together by a Reddit user - implied that DiCaprio has a cut-off age for his girlfriends when they turn 25.
According to the chart, the star's romance with 25-year-old Morrone could soon draw to a close.
The pair reportedly met at the Cannes Film Festival in 2017 and have been dating ever since. Before she met DiCaprio, aspiring actor and model Morrone had only appeared in one film - 2013's Bukowski - but was nevertheless no stranger to Hollywood.
Her mom Solá dated Scarface star Al Pacino - now 82 - for 10 years, between 2008 and 2018. Growing up in Los Angeles, Pacino was Morrone's quasi-stepfather for the entirety of her teenage years.
