The first five episodes of season four of Rick and Morty dropped unexpectedly in December last year, but after those first five came to an end, there was no word on when we'd be able to watch the second batch of season four episodes.

It was recently teased that new episodes of the cult show could soon be on their way, but few would have dared believe that we'd be getting to see them quite so soon.

Yes, Rick and Morty will return on May 3, it was announced today, and there's a brand new trailer to get your teeth into as well.

"We're very thoughtful about who we partner with around Rick and Morty and we couldn't be more pleased with our new relationship with Pringles. Not only are the Rick and Morty show creators making a hilarious spot for the Big Game, we're extending this partnership in really exciting ways, all year long. Rick and Morty fans are going to be given amazing new opportunities to illustrate their love for this iconic show, thanks to Pringles."

It has been a good week for fans of Rick and Morty; not only is there this announcement regarding the second five episodes of season four, but there was also a surprise animated short.

After a genre-leaping first five episodes, who knows where Rick and Morty will take us next, but it's sure to be a wild ride.
