These librarians recreated an iconic Kardashian photo

Whether you love them or hate them, you have to admit that the Kardashians are pretty much the most iconic family of the 21st century. In their 10 years on our screens, we've seen scandals, surprises, and - most recently - a sudden spree of pregnancies (which definitely wasn't part of a marketing ploy to get their viewing figures up).

And if there's one thing the Kardashians know how to do better than anybody else, it's social media. Kim K alone has over 100 million followers on Instagram, Kris Jenner is a self-styled 'mom-ager' and master of self-promotion, and Kylie's brand has become so popular that when people hear her name, they now think of the teen reality star rather than the Aussie pop singer.

However, along with the fame and fortune that comes as part of the reality star package, having such notoriety also means that the Kardashians attract a lot of copycats. And I'm not just talking about the rip-off Kylie lip kits or the Jenner-inspired Halloween costumes - I'm referring to the genius mimicries of the Kardashian's most recognisable pictures.

Most recently, a team of librarians got together to imitate the cover image of the Hollywood Reporter from this August, which features Kris and her five daughters wearing nude tones and posing in a manner which is probably supposed to look natural, but definitely doesn't.

In true Kardashian style, staff from the Invercargill City Libraries and Archives in New Zealand donned muted tones and sultry expressions in order to pull off their version of the shoot.

In a post on Facebook, the group said: "It has been 10 years since the Kardashians first graced our screens. To celebrate, our social media team decided to have a totally impromptu, definitely not planned, photo-shoot."

And here's a side-by-side of their masterpiece with the Kardashian original:

Of course, the picture is titled 'Keeping Up With the Librarians', which - while not as catchy - somehow sounds a little more intriguing than the show we're all familiar with. I mean, what do librarians get up to? I'm sure there must be loads of sordid goings-on happening between the bookshelves or sleazy searches saved on the public computers - and you never know what really goes down during the Tuesday afternoon chess club meetings.

Unfortunately, 'Keeping Up With the Librarians' will not be getting its own spin-off series, as the picture was intended to raise money for charity. In the comments under their original post, the Invercargill City Libraries encouraged more institutions to do the same - and one other library stepped up to the challenge.

Upper Hutt Library, also in New Zealand, posted this fantastic rendition of the famous Kim K magazine shoot:

Yes, their look is a little more budget than Kim's - but the model has noticeably more junk in the trunk, and I think the dirty brick wall is a nice touch.

Obviously, nobody is going to come close to the glitz and glamour of the Kardashian clan, but I think these guys put in a stellar effort. And when it comes to their sense of humour, I think Kim K and co could learn a thing or two from the librarians.
