Former heavyweight champ Mike Tyson has revealed that he smoked weed just before his boxing match against Roy Jones Jr.

Speaking in an interview with Bad Left Hook the 54-year-old former undisputed world heavyweight champion was asked whether or not he had smoked cannabis before the match, and answered emphatically: "absolutely yes."

Tyson previously announced his comeback with this insane training video:

Tyson continued:

"It's just who I am, it has no effect on me from a negative standpoint. It's just what I do, what I am, and how I'm gonna die. There's no explanation, there's no beginning, there's no end."

When asked whether or not his marijuana usage numbed the pain he experienced while fighting, Tyson added: "No, it just numbs me, it doesn't numb the pain."

Indeed, Tyson had been open about his weed usage in the past. Speaking with TMZ Sports, the boxer and entrepreneur spoke about his own personal cannabis business Tyson Ranch.

Tyson stated: "Pretty much every day's 4/20, but the actual day 4/20 is something to be remembered. This is the start of a revolution that's been going on for 30 or 40 years."

Per BBC Sport, Tyson and Jones Jr drew in their match together, and Tyson claimed he was happy with the result, stating:

"This is bigger than championships, we are humanitarians, we are helping people. I'm happy I got this under the belt and I'll continue to go further and do more."

Meanwhile, former four-weight world champion Jones stated: "I don't do draws but the dude is so strong, man. When he hits you, his head, his punches, his body shots, everything hurts. I'm cool with the draw."

In a recent interview with talkSPORT Tyson's trainer, Muay Thai coach Rafael Cordeiro revealed that, in his opinion, Tyson now has the power and stamina of a 21-year-old, stating:

"As soon as we started training I said 'My Lord'. I didn't know what to expect from a guy who hasn't hit mitts for, I think, almost ten years. So I didn't expect to see what I saw. I saw a guy with the same speed, the same power as a guy who is 21/22-years-old."
