Kelly Ripa's husband fires back at haters for their cruel comments on bikini pictures

I don't know why it happens, but it seems like no one can upload an image onto the internet without receiving an insane amount of judgement and hate from online trolls who have nothing better to do with their time. For celebrities, however, this problem is even worse.

While it's easy to feel envious of their lives of excessive luxury and extravagance, celebrities are under more pressure than the average person to "look good". Of course, the definition of looking good varies from person-to-person and one woman who knows this all too well is Kelly Ripa.

The actress, who is known for her role as Hayley Vaughan on All My Children and the co-host of Live! with Kelly and Ryan, has been on the receiving end of some volatile bile this week, due to an image that her husband uploaded of her.

Taking to his Instagram, Kelly's beau, Ryan Consuelos shared an image of his wife sporting a bikini on vacation, captioning it: "Sultry Sundays with the sexy one are my fave..."

However, while Ryan was proudly showing off his wife, commenters took issue with Kelly's bikini, with one user saying that she was too old to wear such a garment.

"Kelly's gorgeous, but isn't there a cutoff age where age-appropriateness comes into play? Just because you can rock a bikini, doesn't mean you should," they said.

Others decided to criticize Ripa's physique, saying  that "her body is nothing to be proud of."

"Cool @instasuelos didn't know you were into little boys, but not totally surprising," another Instagrammer said.

"She has the body of a 12-year-old boy. Guess 'sexy' is a matter of opinion- She is adorable- but...," another added.

However, fans were quick to shut down the trolls, with the image getting over 70,000 likes and many comments from people who think that Ripa looks great.

"These are human beings, we are all human beings. If someone chooses to show his wife or his foot or his face or his children, as long as they are not insulting or humiliating images, there is no reason to judge," one Instagram user replied.

"Women too often judge other women and people too often target people out of ignorance."

"The ones that tell your wife, she's too old, she needs to eat, she has boy body, are the very same people that have a million insecurities," another person wrote to Consuelos.

Obviously annoyed by the comments, Consuelos decided to weigh in on the debate, appearing in the comments section and saying:

"I wanted to take a couple of days to weigh in. Probably should’ve earlier arguably. But I wanted to be above it. Well, not I’m not. I posted this pic of the women I most admire.

"Yes, she’s wearing a bikini at age 47 and will no doubt wear one for many years to come. If that offends you in some way, if it triggers you, or some other psychosis you’re suffering from, I suggest you get over it and get used to it.

"To all the males that had something negative to say. I suggest you bring it up with me if ever I’m lucky enough to run into you."

Well said, Ryan. At the end of the day, Ripa's body wasn't harming anybody, so why comment?
