Woman's uterus 'falls out' of her body after 'she danced too hard'
A woman has been admitted to a hospital in China after her uterus allegedly 'fell out' of her vagina while she was dancing too vigourously, the Daily Mail reports.
The 60-year-old woman was rushed to the Maternal and Child Health Centre in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, and told Dr Song Hongjuan, a supervisor at the hospital, that she felt something fall out of her vagina while dancing at a public square during a work out session.
She believed that the lump that fell out of her body was a tumour, telling Dr Song that while uterus had prolapsed in the past, it had never fallen out completely.
This is a more detailed look at uterine prolapses:
Dr Song determined that the patient had suffered a uterine prolapse, a condition where the womb ends up slipping towards or into the vagina.
Although the patient believed that her dancing was to blame, Dr Song stated that this theory was improbable and that it was more likely that the uterus been weakened from childbirth. Dr Song has now performed surgery on the patient and she is on way to recovery.
Dr Song believes that the patient has given birth to a large baby when she was younger and suffered from uterine prolapse during labour. The condition worsened as she grew older. The doctor as now urged all woman to take care and exercise the pelvic floor muscles after childbirth, and not to leave constipation, chronic coughs, and allergic rhinitis untreated since all of these conditions can have a negative impact.
