A mother has recalled the time that she had to "breastfeed her husband" while they were on vacation after she forgot her milk pump.
Parenting is a wonderful thing, isn't it? Nurturing a new life and watching a small version of yourself experience the world for the first time can be so rewarding.
Often what isn't thought about when trying for a child is the less glamorous side of parenting.
For starters, diaper changes take some getting used to, and the lack of sleep can be brutal. This is all before the terrible twos hit when every day becomes a negotiation.
Another ordeal that often doesn't make it to conversations with prospective new parents is the swelling that breastfeeding mothers often experience around their chest.
This is something Janelle McAloon, 32, from Boston now knows all too well, as she forgot to pack her breast pump when going on vacation and was forced to resort to desperate measures.
The mom took to TikTok where she revealed to her followers that she, along with her husband Joshua, were enjoying a lovely getaway in Puerto Rico.
But the four-day vacation was thrown into turmoil when Janelle realized that she had forgotten her breast pump, causing her breasts to feel like they were "on fire."
Luckily, Joshua was on hand to help out. "You know the part in your marriage vows, 'For better or for worse?'," Janelle said. "Well, I had to take my husband up on that this last week."
"My boobs are on fire. By the first day, I'm like, 'Josh, I need you to help me out'. And that's what we did. I'm here to tell you, I had to breastfeed my husband."
Janelle captioned the video "the awkwardness was real," and wrote over herself talking: "Desperate times call for desperate measures..."
The video has been viewed over 188,000 times and the comments are as hilarious as you would expect given the subject matter.
One person said: "Did you at least give him cookies to go along with it?" and another added: "Probably the best vacation ever for your husband."
A third person explained how they've been in a similar situation: "As a husband w/ children, I have had to sacrifice in this way. I did my husbandry duties to the letter."
Janelle and Joshua are probably closer than they've ever been after this bizarre episode, and it truly shows that love knows no bounds.
