Parents are sharing the creepiest thing their kid has ever said to them

Kids say the darndest things, right? All parents have a hilarious anecdote or two about their children going off-piste and blurting out something unexpected. Most of the time, these tales have a healthy dose of hilarity and can be told time and time again at family dinners for the amusement of everyone aside from said red-faced child. However, there's another kind of anecdote that is not so often shared, the kind that keeps parents up late into the night.

When parents were asked to share the creepiest thing their kids had ever said to them, there were some shocks in store; while some went hand-in-hand with that classic comedy all parents have come to know and love, others were pure terrifying. You can't give children back, right? Because if my kid said some of these things, I'm not sure if I'd want to sleep in the same house as them.

"My toddler went through a phase where she would just constantly say 'hi' to things. "Hi hi hi hi hi hi"

One day, it came out sounding more like 'Die die die die die'

So I say to her "What's that you're saying?"

And turns to face me and just whispers 'Diiiieeeeeee.......'"

"I was tucking in my two year old. He said "Good bye dad." I said, "No, we say good night." He said "I know. But this time its good bye." Had to check on him a few times to make sure he was still there."

"Not to me, but to his grandmother.

He was cuddling with her and being very sweet (he was about 3 at the time). He takes her face in his hands, and brings his face close to hers, then tells her that she's very old, and will die soon.

Then he makes a point of looking at the clock."

"My niece was sitting on the couch with a weird look on her face. Her mom asked her what she was thinking about, and she said, 'I'm imagining the waves of blood rushing over me.'

Turned out they had been at a local science museum with an exhibit on the circulatory system. One of the features was a walk among some giant fake blood vessels, and she was remembering that."

"My 3 year old daughter stood next to her new born brother and looked at him for awhile then turned and looked at me and said, "Daddy its a monster..we should bury it."

"I was sound asleep, and at around 6am I was woken up by my 4 year old daughters face inches from mine.

She looked right into my eyes and whispered, 'I want to peel all your skin off.'

The backstory here is I had been sunburned the previous week, and was starting to peel. In my sleep addled state however, it was pretty terrifying for a few seconds. I didn't know if I was dreaming, or what was going on."

"There was one little girl that I was keeping a close eye on, mostly because of how withdrawn from the other kids she was. I noticed she was playing with a babydoll in the kitchenette, rocking it back and forth and singing to it.

She then took the baby, shoved it into the play oven and slammed the door shut. She turned around, looked straight at me, and said, 'Sometimes bad babies go in timeout' in the creepiest little girl voice I've ever heard before smiling and running off. That one kind of shook me."

"Kid (4 year old): I want a cupcake

Me: No.

Kid: I want a cupcake, please?

Me: No.

Kid: Whispers If you give me a cupcake I wont cut your neck."

"I was with my sister, her husband, and their two year old daughter. We were talking about loved ones that had recently passed (my father had died sometime recently). My brother in law went and grabbed a picture of his mother, who had died in a car crash when he was six, to show me. When my niece saw the picture though she started laughing. We asked her what was so funny and she looked at us and said 'that's my special friend who sings to me'. I still shiver a bit just thinking about it."

"My niece drew a picture 'of a man in her room' that she kept telling her parents about. He had two different colored eyes, and one was gray. When asked why it was gray, she responded "because he can see the storm coming."

"My friend's 7 year old kid pretended to put me in jail. Our conversation went something like this:

Me: What did I do? Forget to brush my teeth? Didn't do my homework?

Her: You murdered a 23 year old woman while she was jogging in the early morning."

Me: "...."

"When I was young, like maybe two years old, my grandma was in the hospital, dying of cancer. Obviously i had no idea what was going on, but apparently one day when my mother and aunt were watching me, I suddenly looked at them and said "Only one Grandma"

they kept trying to convince me otherwise, that no, i had two grandmas, but I kept repeating that line over and over

Then the phone rang. It was my uncle calling to tell my mother that my grandma had passed a few minutes ago"

"Recently actually. My son always says odd things. Usually they're funny but this one threw me for a loop. He is 8. I was telling him how much I love him and thanks for being in my life. He said: I didn't choose this life. I couldn't control how it began. But I can control how it ends."

"My 3 year old daughter was in the bath playing with her toys with me and laughing. Suddenly her face deadpans, she looks me in the eye and tells me in a serious little voice "mummy, if you bit and ate all my fingers off I wouldn't love you anymore"

Anyone feeling a little on edge after reading these? Who knows what is going on in those little angels' heads? Time to get a padlock for the bedroom...
