Pringles has just released a new "Fried Onion Ring" flavour
For a company whose most famous slogan sounds more like a mantra for a narcotic than a snack, Pringles clearly have remarkable staying power. This is made all the more impressive by the fact that, no matter what mad flavour combination gets thrown at you, once you pop, it really is impossible to stop. Maybe this is why they have been able to get away with increasingly weird new varieties like “pizza” and “philly cheesesteak”. But, despite the oddness, a new addition to the lineup has proven that Pringles still have what it takes to make something yummy.
Not content with just perplexing palates, the iconic potato snack brand have surprised everybody with the release of their intoxicating new “Fried Onion Ring” flavour. Having hit supermarket shelves on September 18th, the bright purple cans have made an impression across social media, prompting a near universally positive response.
The new cans were first brought to the public’s attention by clued-up Instagrammer @candyhunting. Posting a picture of the product as early as September 15th, the snack specialist was effusive in their praise, writing:
“7-Eleven has a new exclusive Pringles flavor: Fried Onion Ring! Well, the flavor isn't new to Pringles or the chip world, but it's new to being only at 7-Eleven. Crispy Onion Ring Pringles launched in Canada earlier this year, and many other countries have seen Onion Rings Pringles on shelves. Ruffles also has an onion ring flavor, and there's obviously Funyuns, which have been around for 50 years.”
“Anyway, so the flavor certainly isn't new to the market, but how does it taste? While not being incredibly innovative, these are one of my favorite Pringles in a while. The flavor is simple; it's pretty much onion powder. But I can't stop eating them. 7.75/10. Huge thanks to Kellogg's PR partners for sending these!”

Other early reviewers have also been equally positive. One Twitterer wrote, “Fried Onion Ring @PringlesUS are exclusive to @7eleven and the flavor is SO on point. You done good, #Pringles - available at 7-11 mid September,” while another added, “Found these new Crispy Onion Ring Pringles at @WalmartCanada So delicious and taste like onion rings!?” Even if you aren’t ordinarily a fan of novelty snacks, “Fried Onion Ring Pringles” seem like a surefire winner.
