This guy photoshopped Pennywise the clown into his sister's engagement photos
You may recall seeing couple photos of your parents or grandparents over the years, whether they are simple romantic shots, engagement pictures, or wedding shoots, looking through an old dusty photo album had its own distinctive power. Now, however, hundreds of photos are dumped into Facebook albums for all to see and share in an instant. In fact, you'll probably see a lot of them uploaded while within minutes of them being taken.
While I miss the proliferation of physical photos, there is an upside to having access to photos online, so that people who can't attend the wedding, or those who live too far away to see the couple regularly, can see them together and send them a complimentary comment or two.
Yet it does mean when it comes to the big day, or any event celebrated to the same degree, you'll have some trouble standing out from the crowd. We are inundated with holiday pics and wedding photos on our Facebook timelines, so making yours seem unique is getting tougher and tougher. Yet some still go for the traditional look, knowing that what the photos mean to them is more important than any specific quirks.
That's what Twitter user Jesse McLaren was asked to do for his sister during her engagement party. All she wanted was some pretty photos displaying her love for her husband, but her brother couldn't resist his mischievous compulsion. Sharing the final photos on Twitter, Jesse decided to do something different in this set, hiding a photoshopped clown in each one.
Which one? Well, none other than Pennywise the dancing clown, aka the terrifying monster that terrifies children in Stephen King's 'It', which had a well-received film adaptation back in September. She might not spot them at first, but if you take a look at these zoomed in photos you'll be sure to see the clown pop up in the background.
He captions the photos with the explanataion: "My sister asked me to shoot her engagement pics so I hid Pennywise the Clown in every photo. Countdown until she notices". There's no word on whether she's noticed yet, but the tweet has gone viral, with over 26,000 retweets already. Of course, there were plenty of responses to this particular prank:
While most of the replies to the tweet merely pointed out how funny Jesse's idea was or their interest in seeing how she reacts when she spots the edits, some were quick to target the husband-to-be's attire:
Honestly, knowing his penchant for appearing in the periphery of photos and spookily lurking in the background, this could be the work of Pennywise himself. Or, more likely, it's just the precursor to a brother getting a slap on the back of his head from his sister. No doubt she will not be happy when she finds out.
