While you can get seats in the first-class compartment of a train, it's only really flying that gives you such an elevated experience for a more expensive ticket. The contrast between the highest and lowest-paying customers is so stark, that those in the main cabin of commercial flights can have a pretty rough time of it.

It seems like Delta Air Lines are trying to close that gap a little, buy giving Main Cabin passengers heading out on international flights a much more luxurious experience.

Starting right from when you board, flight attendants will greet guests and offer passengers a hot towel service, according to Travel and Leisure. In addition to this, passengers will be given 'welcome aboard' drinks after departure, which include Bellinis made with sparkling wine and peach puree.

Those aboard will also be able to order a wide range of appetizers and entrees, including larger ones such as grilled shrimp marinated in Harissa.

This all comes on custom-designed dinnerware for each passenger, and with desserts and complimentary coffee, tea, or wine. The crew will then provide a second hot towel service after the meal, with farewell chocolates given out as a final treat.

All these new changes are coming after Delta Airlines reviewed their current options. They reportedly held extensive reviews and tests on both passengers and cabin crews to optimise their flights. This involved testing across 14,000 hours of flight time and 1,8000 customer surveys, as well as crew feedback and design work.

Not only this, but they also recently upgraded their amenity kits across all cabins. This means the inclusion of cleansing towelletes (one of the most-requested elements), as well as sleep masks, dental kits, and ear plugs - all available to the main cabin.

Hopefully this attitude towards all passengers is spread across other airlines beyond this one, and some of the non-first-class tickets end up being a lot more comfortable for the rest of us!
