Vans unveils 'Nightmare Before Christmas' collection
The Nightmare Before Christmas is a cult classic in which an anthropomorphised skeleton, Jack Skellington, of Halloween Town, discovers a holiday-themed portal that transports him to Christmas Town.
After a musical interlude, during which Skellington expresses his awe and admiration at all things festive, the re-animated corpse resolves to make it his life's work to bring the holiday of Christmas to Halloween Town. Unfortunately, in life - as in animated movies about ghoulish yet ultimately relatable monsters - dreams are not so easily realised.
Skellington must navigate disaster, wreckage and ridicule in pursuit of his heady aims. He wishes to be Santa Claus, but there can only be one king in the North Pole.
Thankfully, it all works out in the end, as these things tend to in the movies.
Now that I've caught you up with the movie in incredibly broad strokes, let's move on to the matter at hand. Vans recently announced that they would be dropping a Nightmare Before Christmas collection. Now, they've released a full look at the collaboration.
Hypebeast reports that the footwear collection comprises of 10 different styles, that are based around classic Vans looks.
An announcement on the Vans website reads;
"Vans invites all ghouls, ghosts and goblins to celebrate the holidays with Halloween Town’s most beloved characters, announcing the release of a special collection inspired by Disney Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas”."
The footwear collection will be complimented by an apparel range, as well as accessories, with designers taking inspiration from classic moments in the movie and character interpretations.
The collection is set to go on sale tomorrow in stores, online and via Vans dealers (October 4). You can see more of the collection, and read more information, on the Vans website.
