A woman has revealed the "secret message" she received found on her Starbucks coffee cup, left to her by a barista.

Now, while most Starbucks baristas are content just misspelling our names on our coffee orders, one barista decided to play a flirtatious game with customer Ashley Wilkins.

Taking to TikTok to share her order, Ashley's take-out Starbucks cup may look like any other regular order, but written in Sharpie on the side was a "secret message" left to her by the staff member.

Ashley captioned the video: "New Level of pick up line!"

In the clip, Ashley can be heard laughing in the background, as the text on the screen reads: "Well this [happened] today!!"

Turning the cup around, the on-screen text then reads: "No you just didn't starbuck steve. WTF".

The arrow to the "secret message" points to the coffee cup's safety message, which "Steve" had partially blanked out with his Sharpie so it reads something entirely different.

With some of the words crossed out, the message now reads: "Careful, you're extremely hot."

Ashley's post proved very popular on the video-sharing site, amassing over 1.5 million views, 172,000+ likes, and hundreds of comments from delighted followers.

Some people were very impressed by the barista's efforts, such as user Helen Williams who wrote: "What a legend he deserves a date".

Another user added: "I'm not going to lie, thats pretty good [sic]", to which even an impressed Ashley replied: "Right! I would have never come up with that! So creative!"

Other users, such as J. Ellis decided to poke fun at the fact Steve spelled "secret" with an "e" at the end.

Ellis quipped: "Starbucks Steve just secreted messaged all over your cup."

And just in case you thought the barista's efforts successfully earned him a date with Ashley, sadly that doesn't seem to be the case.

When one Tiktokker commented: All that precision drawing and effort is awesome!!! He does deserve a date if [you're] single", Ashley revealed that she is, in fact, married... and that her husband was with her at the time!?

Single or not, you've got to admire Steve's efforts!
