The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson has taken to Twitter to share an update with his followers and the country at large over his condition.

His message comes after reports broke last night that he had been taken to hospital as a precautionary measure due to persistent coronavirus symptoms.

The Prime Minister wrote;

"Last night, on the advice of my doctor, I went into hospital for some routine tests as I’m still experiencing coronavirus symptoms. I’m in good spirits and keeping in touch with my team, as we work together to fight this virus and keep everyone safe."

"I’d like to say thank you to all the brilliant NHS staff taking care of me and others in this difficult time. You are the best of Britain. Stay safe everyone, and please remember to stay at home to protect the NHS and save lives."

This comes after Downing Street hit out at "disinformation" after it was reportedly claimed that Mr Johnson was on a ventilator;

“That is disinformation. Our specialist Government units have seen a rise in false and misleading narratives since the coronavirus pandemic started. It’s vital that any disinformation is knocked down quickly,” said the Prime Minister's official spokesman.
