Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ban prominent royal family member from their wedding

While there's no doubt that literally everyone wants an invite to the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, unfortunately, the numbers are limited. It's believed that the likes of Barack Obama and Serena Williams will be receiving an invite to the event, but some members of the family will be missing out.

Of the 600 guests who will be receiving their invites to the royal event of the year, one prominent member of the family will not be receiving one.

It's been widely reported that Sarah Ferguson, otherwise known as The Duchess of York, will not be invited to the ceremony. It's believed that The Duchess is devastated by the snub, with her ex-husband Prince Andrew and her daughters Eugenie and Beatrice being invited to the ceremony at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19.

According to an insider:

“The Duchess of York is not invited to Harry’s wedding. The invites are being sent out this week and she’s not on the list.

“Fergie has been told to keep a low profile before Eugene’s wedding and not to go on talk shows or give interviews about the royal family. She’s not happy about it.

“Eugenie’s wedding is going to be a nightmare because so many of the family can’t stand the Duchess. It’s very uncomfortable.

“She is still lobbying for an invite but Harry remains adamant he doesn’t want her there.”

Another friend added:

“Harry and Meghan have been close to Eugenie and Jack, which had increased Fergie’s hopes of getting an invite.

“But Harry doesn’t trust Fergie to keep her mouth shut and respect their privacy.”

It's not the first time that Fergie has been outcast by the royals. Back in 2011, she was also snubbed by Prince William and Kate Middleton when they got married, leading to her fleeing to Thailand to watch the ceremony on TV.

In an interview with Oprah, she said:

“I felt that I ostracised myself by my behaviour, by the past, by living with all the regrets of my mistakes, that I sort of wore a hair shirt and beat myself up most of the day thinking and regretting why did I make such a mistake? Why have I made so many mistakes?

“I chose to go and be in Thailand in a place called Kamalaya... the jungle embraced me.”

More details about the wedding are beginning to emerge, with it being reported that Meghan's father will not be doing a speech at the wedding. It's also believed that rather than guests giving the couple a wedding gift, Harry will ask guests to make a donation to his charities.

A royal wedding source said:

“Prince Harry is a man who has everything. He doesn’t want guests spending lots of time buying him extravagant presents but he does want them to support his charity work.

“Obviously he has his own foundation with Prince William and Kate, and he also supports organisations like Wellchild and the Invictus Foundation.

“He’s expected to provide more specific information with the individual invites.”

So while they may seem like a lovely couple, it appears that Meghan and Harry have a pretty ruthless streak in them. Unfortunately for Fergie, she'll just have to watch the ceremony on the television like the rest of us.
