Can you believe that a year ago today, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced to the people of the UK that the nation would be going into its first strict lockdown in an effort to stop the spread of Covid-19?

"I urge you at this moment of national emergency to stay at home, protect our NHS and save lives," Johnson told the nation, as many of us expected that it would only last a couple of months at most.

On that day, the UK's official death toll as a result of the disease stood at 364. It now stands at 126,172.

A year on, and the nation is in the midst of its third national lockdown. And, I don't know about you guys, but this has been the toughest one yet.

We're still unable to visit friends and loved ones, pubs and restaurants are still shut, and all my clothes this year have been purchased from Sainsbury's.

Now, one year on from Boris' historic announcement, people are reflecting on this day by taking to social media and sharing the last picture on their camera rolls of the last time life was normal.

Using the hashtag "#LastNormalPicture", Twitter has been flooded with memories from a once more carefree and less socially distanced time.

Some people reflected on good times at theme parks:

Or social get-togethers:

Or being with colleagues:

Do you remember live music gigs??

Or what about live sporting events?

Or even just getting the bus:

How about going on holidays without having to worry about restrictions or isolating?

And so many other memories that seem a long time ago:

Yes, a throwback to a time when we were able to hug loved ones, have a cold pint down the pub, and even get on a train without wearing a mask.

Personally, I certainly didn't think we'd be where we are today, but it is important to remember that one day - hopefully sooner rather than later - all of this will come to an end, and scenes like the ones above will once again be normal.

Stay strong.
