Ever since Trump first announced his decision to run for president, all aspects of his personal life have been under a microscope - and rightly so. Not only was there interest in his medical records and tax returns (which he still hasn't released, in case anyone had forgotten), but also his sexual encounters.
This hasn't been as much of a concern with former presidents but, as Trump currently stands accused of sexual assault by at least 15 different women - and has been recorded saying things such as, "When you’re a star they let you do it. You can do anything ... Grab them by the pussy" - the interest in what exactly he gets up to behind closed doors is much greater than it would normally be.
So, when a porn star came forward to say she had been paid $130,000 to keep quiet about a liaison she had with the president back in 2006 (at which time he had been married to Melania for a year), many were keen to hear the details.
Stephanie Clifford, a 38-year-old adult film star otherwise known as Stormy Daniels, says she was paid off by Michael Cohen, Trump's long-term lawyer, just one month before the election in 2016. As part of the arrangement, she was not meant to talk about the incident at all, and Trump's team vehemently deny that both the encounter and the subsequent bribe ever happened.
However, a friend of Clifford's came forward last week to say that she had been told about her encounter with the then-businessman shortly after it actually happened.
Alana Evans, who is also a porn star, was reluctant to give away too many details, but recalled that Clifford had told her: "All I'm going to say is: I ended up with Donald in his hotel room. Picture him chasing me around his hotel room in his tighty-whities."
Evans also revealed that she was invited to the hotel room where Trump met with Clifford in order to participate in a threesome, but she declined.
"Stormy said she met Donald Trump and then tells me about the golf tournament and how she's supposed to hang out with him later that night, and she invited me," Evans recalled.
She went on to say how Trump personally invited her to join them.
"Stormy calls me four or five times, by the last two phone calls she's with Donald and I can hear him, and he's talking through the phone to me saying, 'Oh come on Alana, let's have some fun! Let's have some fun!'"
But Evans felt intimidated.
"Men like him scare me because they have so much power and this was way before his presidential nomination," she said. "So I bailed on them and turned my phone off."
Despite claims being made by two different women that Clifford did indeed meet with Donald Trump for sex in 2006, the president's lawyer denies it ever happened.
"These rumors have circulated time and again since 2011," Cohen said in a statement to CNN. "President Trump once again vehemently denies any such occurrence as has Ms. Daniels."
No doubt Trump will have something to say about this "fake news" very soon.
