After taking a DNA test, a woman from California has managed to reunite with the child she thought had died as an infant 30 years ago.

When Tina Bejarano, a woman who hails from Los Banos in California, gave birth to a baby daughter back in 1989, she was told by her abusive mother that she could only keep one child: the new one, or her firstborn.

Two days later, Tina's mother told her that her child had been stillborn. Tina was devastated by the news that her little girl, Kristin, had passed away, but there was a different side to the story.

For the next 30 years, Tina and her husband celebrated the birthday of the baby they'd lost, and Tina's grief was almost overwhelming. In an interview with KMPH: "It was a hard time every year. I would get depressed. I would cry all the time."

In 2018, Tina's first child Tiffany convinced her to go through with a DNA test. She did so, and not long after she received an email from someone, which stated: "I think we need to talk, it says we're related, and it says you're my mom."

Tina discovered that the baby she gave birth to is now a trans man who was looking to reconnect with his biological mother. Kristin was adopted by a family not long after his birth and grew up in Las Vegas, and now lives in New Jersey with his wife and new baby.

Commenting on the reunion in a recent interview, Tina stated: "I don't care [about him being trans]. I don't care if he's in transition. I don't care if he hasn't transitioned. I don't care. That's my kid. We’re just glad he’s alive."

Kristin, his wife and their baby are all visiting Tina in November. It's incredible that mother and son will finally get to catch up after all these years.
