Dan Bilzerian "saw girl get shot in the head" at Mandalay Bay shooting
It is being reported that at least one gunman has opened fire on a crowd at a music festival in Las Vegas.
Attendees of the festival described hearing a noise "like firecrackers", however it subsequently transpired that a gunman was firing "clip after clip" at festival goers.
Hundreds fled the scene, while videos with what sounds like consistent gunfire have been uploaded to social media. It is believed that at least 20 people have been killed in the incident with a further 100 sustaining injuries.
Meanwhile, several off-duty policy officers from Bakersfield, California were apparently at the concert, per a statement released by Danny Freeman of KGET News;
Police have said that an individual suspected of being the gunman is "down", and "at this time we do not believe there are any more shooters".
A woman who was in attendance at the concert with her husband descried the scene to CNN thus;
"Everyone was literally lying on top of each other and trying to get out of the way, and the shots just kept coming.
“When we got down, there was a man shot right there. One of my friends was helping him out. They got him out, and we ran, and everybody is hiding everywhere. They were hiding under the bleachers [seats], and the stanchions, and anywhere they could.
“And everybody is telling us to run, ‘run as fast as you can’.
“My husband and I ran out towards our car, and there were people hiding underneath my car for cover.
“There was a gentleman who was shot, and he said ‘can you help me’? So I put him in my car. I had, like, six people in my car.”
Meanwhile, poker player Dan Bilzerian has posted a fraught video to Snapchat, in which he describes witnessing a girl getting shot in the head. The 36-year-old filmed himself running away from the incident at Mandalay Bay as he says ""holy f*** this girl just got shot in the f***ing head".
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has issued several tweets in the wake of the shooting, writing;
"Confirming that one suspect is down. This is an active investigation. Again, please do not head down to the Strip at this time."
Before adding that a press conference would soon take place;
"A briefing by @Sheriff_LVMPD will be 12:45 at our HQ campus. Future media briefings will be held at HQ from this point on. #LVMPDnews".
A hospital spokesperson has confirmed that 14 of those wounded in the incident remain in a critical condition, while sections of the area were closed down in the aftermath of the attack, which took place at 22:30.
Flights bound for the McCarran International Airport were being diverted elsewhere, though the airport has since confirmed that "limited activity" has resumed, advising passengers to "monitor flight status with your airline". Delays are anticipated at the airport.
