Joe Biden starts Election Day by attending mass and visiting son Beau's grave

Joe Biden has started Election Day by visiting the gravesite of his late son Beau.

According to The Independent, the 77-year-old Democratic presidential candidate made an early morning stop at St. Joseph’s on the Brandywine Church in Wilmington, Delaware, to attend morning mass on Tuesday (November 3).

Accompanied by his wife Jill, and granddaughters Finnegan and Natalie, Biden when then seen visiting the grave of his late son Beau Biden, an Iraq veteran who died at the age of 46 on May 30, 2015, as a result of a brain tumor.

The church's cemetery is also the resting place of Biden’s late first wife, Neilia Hunter, and his infant daughter and Beau's sister Naomi, who both died in a car crash in 1972 shortly after Joe Biden's election to the post of senator of Delaware.

Meanwhile, Biden's Republican rival, the incumbent president Donald Trump, started his morning with a telephone interview on the weekday morning news show Fox and Friends.

Speaking with co-host Steve Doocy, Trump appeared confident about his chances of winning re-election. Per Fox News, Trump stated:

"When there is victory, if there is victory, I think we will have victory.

"You know, there is no reason to play games. And I think we will have victory. You know, I look at it as being a very, you know, a very solid chance at winning."

Trump also lambasted his opponent, stating that Biden would be unable to curtail the far-left members of the Democrats from seizing control of the party if he won, stating:

"Joe’s going to have a hard time, he’s not going to be able to handle them [...] Joe Biden will never call the shots and if he does he’s not going to be there very long."

Per The Independent, Francis Brennan, the Director of Strategic Response for Trump's 2020 presidential campaign, came under fire last month for mocking Biden when he visited the cemetery on Sunday, September 6. 

Retweeting a video of Biden at the graveyard, Brennan captioned the footage: "REPORTER: 'Mr. Vice President come talk to us.' Joe Biden just keeps meandering along. [sic]"

For instance, chair of the Democrats Lawyers’ Council Andrew Weinstein wrote "This is the Director of Strategic Response for the Trump campaign mocking Joe Biden for walking through the graveyard where his son is buried after leaving church this morning while Donald Trump spent his day on the golf course."
