Two planes with banners insulting Donald Trump for his time in the White House have been flown over his Florida home.

One of the planes had the words "Worst President Ever" trailing behind it and another said: "Trump You Pathetic Loser Go Back To Moscow."

The two planes were observed in the vicinity of the Mar-a-Lago resort that the former president is now calling his home.

It is not known who is behind the plane stunt, however, it is clear that they are not a fan of the 45th President of the United States.

Trump's return to Flordia after his tenure in the White House has had a mixed response from residents, with some worrying about how having such a polarising figure living in the area could affect them.

Richard J. Steinberg, a real estate broker who works in Palm Beach and New York, told the Baltimore Sun: "Nobody that I've spoken to is looking forward to him coming back to Palm Beach.

"Quite honestly, I think that whether you're a Trump supporter or not, I don't think that there are many people that in good conscience can justify what happened on Jan. 6, and I think that most - most - people hold him at least partially responsible."

In the video below, Trump bids farewell as president:

However, while some people had their reservations, Trump's many supporters came out in force to welcome him back to the sunshine state.

They lined the streets leading up to Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort with signs that read "Welcome Home" and "Best President Ever!!".

Trump flew home as soon as his time in the White House came to a close when, traditionally, the outgoing president attends their successor's inauguration ceremony.

Mike Pence, however, was in attendance as Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were sworn into office.

Prior to boarding Air Force One and making his way back to Florida, Trump addressed a crowd and made comments about America and the coronavirus pandemic.

Per ABC News, Trump said: "We have the greatest country in the world, we have the greatest economy in the world, and as bad as the pandemic was [...] we did something that is really considered a medical miracle."
