After last night's final presidential debate before the November election, viewers spotted a painfully awkward moment between President Trump and First Lady Melania.

In footage of the couple walking off the stage after Trump's debate with rival Joe Biden, Melania can be seen appearing to pull her hand away from her husband's after initially walking off stage hand-in-hand.

The awkward moment caused a stir on social media, where people were quick to comment on what it could say about the President and First Lady's relationship.

One Twitter user wrote: "You gotta wonder if she's even voting for him..."

A second commented: "Did she wipe her hand on her dress or am I seeing things?"

Meanwhile, a third shared a clip of the incident writing: "I know we hate a 'Melania HATES him' narrative BUT I MEAN."

Another wrote: "OMG! Why does he even try?? The results of his attempts to hold Melania's hand are awkward at best, withering showcases of her unabiding hate for him at worst."

Somebody even noticed that Biden attempted to wave goodbye at the Trumps, writing: "LOL, in this video Joe Biden tries to wave to Trump, but Trump doesn't even acknowledge it and then Melania rips her hand away from Donald Trump."

However, some Twitter users did remark that the footage was not quite as it seemed and that it was Trump, in fact, who pushed Melania's hand away.

One wrote: "It looked more like Trump pushed her hand away."

A second added: "Weird...after watching it a few times it actually looks like he's pushing her hand away. Weird [sic]."

A third wrote: "It looks like he tossed her hand away and then shoved her forward. ? They are definitely not a loving couple [sic]."
