An image has gone viral on social media this week, which shows a man being walked through a busy public supermarket on a leash by a dominatrix.

The picture in question was first shared on social media by a Twitter-user named Paul Tao, who uploaded the picture on October 18, and captioned it simply: "Spotted at Erewhon today."

In it, a tattooed woman, wearing a face-mask, a fishnet crop top, a black mini skirt, and black leather boots, can be seen leading a man by a dog collar around his neck.

The man is wearing a dog mask, and is crawling on his hands and knees through an organic grocery store in Los Angeles.

Tao later posted a screenshot of a conversation he'd had with the person who'd sent him the picture, which read:

"Just got smoothies at Erewhon. They said the girl was whipping the guy and then they finally had to ask her to leave. Erewhon CEO was there."

Suffice to say, Twitter-users were divided on the image, with some finding it harmless fun, while others condemned the public display of roleplay.

For instance, one outraged Twitter user wrote: "Public humiliation is great and all, but we gotta talk about... You know, maybe not doing this in public spaces because not everyone is consenting to being part of the scene that you brought to the store. [sic]"

Meanwhile, someone else chimed in: "Why do people think it's a good idea to practice kink in public? . . . With people who didn't consent to see/participate in it. [sic]"

However, someone else commented:  "I don't see what the big deal is. There's no sex act involved. If my son asked me why they were doing that I would say 'They're just playing. Sometimes grownups in a relationship like to dress up and pretend to be other people or even animals.' There's a lot worse to be seen. [sic]"

According to a recent article by The Daily Dot, the dominatrix in question was later identified as a woman going by the name "Mistress Lark", and stated in an interview that she had been shooting a video with her sub (submissive partner) when she'd decided to drop by the store to get some juice.

The dom added that she didn't whip her client, and only paddled him twice instead, and claims that no children were in the shop to witness the incident.
