A new poll of Russian citizens has named Vladimir Putin the best-looking man in Russia.

The news that Putin is the country's sexiest man was revealed when the results were published on Friday (April 2), by the Russian recruitment website Superjob.ru.

Eighteen percent of men surveyed said that Putin was Russia's most attractive male singleton, and 17% of women agreed.

However, it is worth noting that 19% of the men surveyed named themselves as the country's most eligible bachelor, and 18% of the surveyed women said that there weren't any attractive men in the country.

Superjob.ru said: "Russians still call Vladimir Putin the most attractive famous man in the country. Neither actors nor athletes or other politicians can compete with him today."

This comes after Putin has released a number of PR campaigns featuring photographs of himself riding a horse.

In the poll, the Russian president had a clear lead over his closest competitors, having divorced from his wife of over three decades, Lyudmila Aleksandrovna Ocheretnaya, back in 2014.

Other favorites in the poll included Dmitry Nagiyev, Danila Kozlovsky, and Konstantin Khabensky, however, only two-to-three percent of those surveyed named them as the sexiest men.

The survey was conducted between March 22 and April 1 and involved over 300 Russian cities.

News of Putin's victory in the poll comes after he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize at the end of 2020, having been put forward by a group of Russian writers.

Putin's spokesman asserted at the time that the nomination was not made by the Kremlin.

Christian Tybring-Gjedde - a right-wing Norwegian politician - also nominated Putin for the award back in 2013 alongside the then President Donald Trump for brokering a deal between Israel and the UAE.

Tybring-Gjedde wrote in his nomination letter: "As it is expected other Middle Eastern countries will follow in the footsteps of the UAE, this agreement could be a game-changer that will turn the Middle East into a region of cooperation and prosperity."
