Polish model spends thousands to become first 'living barbie doll'
Plastic surgery is getting out of control. First we had the human ken doll, now we have the first living Barbie doll, next we will have the first human Buzz Lightyear or something. It seems as cosmetic surgery becomes more and more accessible in society, it is also getting more extreme.
While extensive plastic surgery used to be reserved for the rich and famous, with the likes of Michael Jackson being known for having multiple procedures, you can now get on the subway or any form of public transport and be more than likely to see someone with some form of surgical enhancement.
While it's common to see the odd lip filler, botox or boob job, some people go to extreme lengths when it comes to plastic surgery - like this woman.
This glamorous architect claims that she is Poland's first "living Barbie doll". Anella An, who hails from Poznan, Poland, says that her dream is to "maximise her likeness" to the infamous plastic figure. But despite spending an insane amount of money and undergoing numerous operations to achieve her goals, Ana says that it wasn't always her dream to look like the children's toy.
Ana says that after having a nose job, she "couldn't stop" getting surgery and went on to spend over 150,000 PLN ($41,000) on various surgeries, including lips fillers and breast implants. However, she also claims to her tiny waist is natural.
Appearing on a local break TV show, the part-time model said: "It came about very spontaneously. It was not planned at all."
"Everyone has a complex, even small things like hair or something you have to change, and I said that I would like to improve one thing, for example, my nose. And I did it.
"Then I thought about nice breasts and I thought why not, and that was the start."
Anella, who has an Instagram following of 40,000 fans, spends her time between Poznan, Tricity and Munich. Speaking about her appearance, she says:
"I like strange, weird, and unique things, maybe because I'm weird."
She added: "I like people who have something to say, who are charismatic. People who can create something beautiful and are beautiful inside."
Anella claims that she still works full time as an architect and that her social media posts are purely just a hobby right now. Despite her stable career, she states that she does dream of being a Playboy bunny one day.
As with all people of this nature, Anella received plenty of abuse online, with many people criticising and ridiculing her cosmetically enhanced appearance.
In all honesty, I'm not sure where I stand on these people who undergo extensive plastic surgery. On one hand, I think it's a completely ridiculous thing to do and that we should just embrace the bodies that we are given - flaws and everything. But on the other hand, if you're unhappy with the way you look and have the means to change that, who is to stop you?
