Despite a narrow miss in his quest to become the youngest world champion in darts history, teenage sensation Luke Littler is standing firm in his relationship with girlfriend Eloise Milburn, determined to defy the critics.

Littler's remarkable journey in the darts world took an unexpected turn on Wednesday night when Luke Humphries staged a stunning comeback to snatch a 7-4 victory, narrowly denying Littler the championship title.

Throughout the tournament, Milburn, herself an amateur darts player, stood by her 16-year-old partner, joining his parents and sister in cheering him on.

The young couple's romance, which blossomed over the past few months, began when they met while playing FIFA online. Despite negative reactions and online trolls accusing Milburn of being a "money grabber," both Littler and Milburn are unwavering in their commitment to each other.

Speaking to Sky News, Littler made their intentions clear: "We're going to stick together now, obviously we have been for the last few months, so we just going to stick together. Whether anyone likes it or not, we're not bothered."

While Littler had a chance to secure victory with one dart at double two to complete a 124 checkout for a 5-2 lead, he narrowly missed, and Humphries capitalized, eventually winning 7-4.

Reflecting on the match, Littler admitted that his mind went blank during the combination finish, causing a momentary pause. "I took out a 122 beforehand, and my mind went blank, and I had to stop my rhythm, and I just lost it," he said. "I think the more you play, you know what you go for, what you set up, and what you finish, you get used to it."

Despite his loss, Littler is excited about the future, with darts fans worldwide eagerly watching his promising career. However, for now, he's more thrilled about the prospect of spending time with his beloved Xbox.

He shared his enthusiasm on ITV's Good Morning Britain, saying, "I can't wait to go back on my Xbox. I didn't bring it because I didn't think I would get to the final. I only practice for half an hour a day because I get bored and have my Xbox next to me."

Littler acknowledges the experience he gained from playing at Alexandra Palace and remains unfazed by the hype surrounding his accomplishments. He doesn't anticipate added pressure from those close to him, thanks to a strong support system.

"I'll take the experience," he stated. "I've got the fans, all the fans that have gathered around me. It's crazy, it's non-stop, they chant me, the other Luke, they do all sorts. It's non-stop, but you've got to get on with it. I've got a good manager and family who don't put any pressure on me."
