Today Chris Pratt, velociraptor trainer and lead singer of Mouserat, announced his engagement to 29-year-old author Katherine Schwarzenegger. And yes, Katherine is the daughter of Arnold Schwarzenegger, 80's action icon and man who refuses to just jingle half of the way. The pair dated for seven months, which doesn't seem very long, but shut up, lightning-fast engagements are the new trend, get with it.

On Instagram, Star Lord shared the happy news, writing, "Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you. Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go! ??♥️" And I assume afterward, Arnold called and said, "GET TO THE CHAPEL!" There are no details yet about the wedding, but I hope they invite Thanos, Leslie Knope and the Indominus Rex.

Previously Chris was married to Anna Faris, star of the Scary Movie films and the sitcom Mom. After eight years of marriage, they announced they were filing for divorce. "Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward," the couple said in a joint statement. "We still love each other and will always cherish our time together."

On Instagram, Anna commented on her ex-husband's engagement news, writing, "I'm so happy for you both! Congratulations!" Divorce can often be messy, but it appears the House Bunny and F.B.I. Special Agent Burt Macklin have no bad blood. The couple has agreed on a "flexible timeshare" to co-parent their son, Jack. And according to court documents, they've agreed to live no further than five miles apart until Jack finishes the sixth grade.

During a recent episode of her podcast, Unqualified, Anna opened up about her love life following the split. Regarding her ex, she said, "Chris and I work really hard ‘cause we have Jack, that is sort of the long game idea and making sure Jack is really happy, which makes us really happy. We have sort of the luxury of circumstance. You know, we are both in other loving relationships. … But it’s like, how do you not in general sink into a place of bitterness?"

She added, "I do want to reiterate though that I f**king acknowledge — we all do, everyone acknowledges — that there is bitterness and pain with all breakups and that hopefully makes us human. But the long game is just the worst, being the bigger person. It just is. It f**king sucks. Until then, what matters most is that everyone’s happy."

Currently Anna is dating cinematographer Michael Barrett, so don't worry about her, she's doing just fine, thanks. Congratulations to Chris and Katherine, and to Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has bounced back from open heart surgery to give Redditors inspiring speeches about overcoming depression. I'm sure his speech at the wedding will be inspiring, too.
