In a joint Instagram post, Madden and Diaz expressed their joy, saying: "We are blessed and excited to announce the birth of our Son, Cardinal Madden."

The post continued: "He is awesome and We are all so happy he is here! For the kids safety and privacy we won’t be posting any pictures - but he’s really cute. We are feeling so blessed and grateful. Sending much love from our fam to yours."

The announcement sparked an outpouring of love and congratulations from fans and fellow celebrities, with Katy Perry writing: "another earth angel."

Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy added his excitement with a series of sparkling emojis while Lionel Richie added a heart.

Diaz and Madden met in 2014 and tied the knot in a private ceremony in January 2015 at their Beverly Hills home. The couple's first child, Raddix Madden, was born in December 2019 - which also came as a surprise to fans.

Despite their fame, Diaz and Madden have prioritized their family's privacy, a sentiment echoed in Diaz's previous announcement about Raddix's birth.

In an Instagram post welcoming Raddix, Diaz stated: "While we are overjoyed to share this news, we also feel a strong instinct to protect our little one's privacy."

Diaz has never been shy to talk about how much she loves being a mom, as on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon in 2020, she described parenthood as "the best thing that ever happened" to her.

"It's been heaven. Literally every single day, there are just leaps and bounds...and she's not the same baby that she was yesterday." Diaz said.

Speaking further on the Kelly Clarkson Show in 2022, Diaz said: "I feel like as a parent, my job is to just help her find the words to her emotions, her experience, what she's going through and be able to help her identify that and move through it.

"But you know what's also really imperative to repair. Like if you do blow up, just to repair that and say, 'Oh my God, mommy lost her s***,' And, 'I didn't mean to say that to you.'"

Away from the spotlight, Diaz briefly retired from acting following her role in the 2014 film, Annie, before returning to star in Netflix's Back In Action alongside Jamie Foxx.

Recently, reports have surfaced of Diaz's potential collaboration with Keanu Reeves and director Jonah Hill in a project called Outcome, per the Daily Mail.
