It seems as though celebrities are just as guilty as the rest of us of this kind of behaviour. Case in point: American singer-songwriter Halsey, who broke up with rapper G-Eazy this week. Almost immediately after, she decided to upload a stunning bikini snap to Instagram, which made it look like she's managed to bounce back pretty easily.

In a candid and emotional Instagram story, she told her many followers: "I normally keep this kind of thing private but provided our public nature I feel the need to inform my fans. G-Eazy and I are taking some time apart. I'm eager to continue the upcoming passage of time and dedicating myself to my art and my career, and the duration of my tour. I wish him the best. Thanks for respecting our privacy at this time."

She then uploaded two pictures of herself wearing a bikini, one posing with her dog and another of her lounging by the pool. It seems as though the breakup has been pretty serious, since she appears to have deleted all the old photos of her and G-Eazy together.

There was much speculation about the state of their relationship after they were spotted attending a performance by Post Malone at the Hollywood Bowl last week. Post called G-Eazy up on stage, while Halsey was in the audience. However, despite that, the two of them were not seen together after the concert, which many found unusual since the pair were normally almost inseparable when making public appearances.

Fans also noticed that the Instagram pic of the dog was captioned: "kiss my dog on the forehead and then kiss ur ass goodbye" -- a reference to the lyrics, "Kiss my son on the forehead then kiss your ass goodbye" from the Drake track '8 out of 10.'  The couple first started dating last year, and previously Halsey dated Lido, from 2014 until 2016, and then Ashton Irwin in 2016.
