Famed for courting controversy with unique aplomb, Kanye West is anything but predictable. The rapper, who is married to reality television star and pop culture phenomenon, Kim Kardashian, recently attracted press attention after returning to Twitter to post a slew of tweets which ranged from being political in tone to downright bizarre.

After lending his support to Donald Trump, and repeatedly urging his followers to "break the normal" and "remove worry", the 40-year-old incited mass vitriol after saying that 400 years of slavery was "a choice" in a TMZ interview.

"When you hear about slavery for 400 years," he said. “For 400 years? That sounds like a choice. You was there for 400 years and it’s all of y’all. It’s like we’re mentally in prison. I like the word prison because slavery goes too direct to the idea of blacks. Slavery is to blacks as the Holocaust is to Jews. Prison is something that unites as one race, blacks and whites, that we’re the human race."

Now, while much less incendiary, West has got the internet up in arms once more - only this time, it's to do with his sartorial choices. The rapper, who boasts his own fashion line, committed the ultimate fashion sin at 2 Chainz's wedding: wearing socks and slides.

From the legs up, West looked amazing in his shirtless, Louis Vuitton mint green double breasted suit, which he accessorised with two gold chains. But, from the waist down, the father-of-three looked very much, well, like a father-of-three.

Now, these aren't any usual slides, of course - they're Yeezy velcro slides - and West has debuted them on his social media before too.

In other news, West recently opened up about his relationship with Jay Z. "I was hurt about them not coming to the wedding," he said while speaking to Charlamagne Tha God on iHeartRadio's The Breakfast Club. "I understand they were going through some things, but if it's family, you're not going to miss a wedding."
Kanye added that he's never actually asked Jay-Z why the Carters skipped the wedding. "I don't think I ever asked him that question, directly."

While Beyoncé and Jay-Z never attended Kanye and Kim's nuptials, Beyoncé did share a photo of Kimye and North to Instagram to wish the couple well on their new journey. "Wishing you a lifetime of unconditional love. God bless your beautiful family," the 36-year-old captioned the image.

The Carters also apparently failed to lend their support to the Kardashian-Wests at another crucial moment. After Kim was the victim of an armed robbery in Paris, Beyoncé and Jay-Z didn't check in to see how their friends were doing. While on stage during his Saint Pablo tour, Kanye addressed Jay-Z directly.

"Don’t call me after the robbery and say ‘how you feelin?’ You wanna know how I’m feelin? Come by the house," he told a packed crowd at his Seattle concert. "Bring the kids by the house. Like we’re brothers. Let’s sit down."

Well, it's never sunshine and rainbows is it?
