We may know Kim Kardashian best for her looks, her family's antics on the reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and her marriage to Kanye West, but she's been up to something a little different lately. After campaigning for the release of a woman given a hefty lifetime sentence for a minor crime, her crusade led her all the way to the President of the United States.

In what would've seemed completely mad a few years ago, Kim K headed to the White House in May to discuss the possibility of a pardon for Alice Johnson. The image of Trump alongside Kim was posted onto his always-active Twitter account on May 30, where he said they were talking about prison reform.

This photo took the internet by storm, with plenty of confusion and ridicule to go around.

The reason Kardashian-West was there in the first place was to talk about the injustice that Alice Marie Johnson has faced over the years. The 63-year-old has been serving a life sentence in prison for a non-violent, first-time drug offence.

Her supporters have spent years campaigning for her to be released, and after Kim publicised the story - Johnson was able to finally return to her family.

Clemency was granted to Johnson and her sentence was commuted, though she didn't receive a full pardon. Kim later spoke to CNN's Van Jones about the meeting with Trump, where she complimented him on the way he handled the situation:

"He felt it, he was compassionate. He said, 'You know, this is a really long time that she's been in here. This just isn't fair'. He knew that this was the right thing to do.

"I think just — he felt her heart. And he explained that to me. I mean, when he said he has the papers in front of him and he's signing it, I just, like, my heart was so full."

However - is there a chance that this little foray into politics was something that she enjoyed? Is there even a distant possibility that she could be gunning for a job in the oval office? The idea of Kanye running for President, with Kim as his first lady, has been brought up before -  but it may be that Kardashian could attempt to be the first female POTUS.

The aforementioned CNN interview has been revealed in part before, but now the entire interview has been televised. At one point, Van Jones asks Kardashian whether she would ever run for president, and Kim says she's not thinking about it at the moment, but adds: "Never say never".

She continued:

"I just wanna help - starting one person at a time. I think sometimes if more people just put their personal feelings aside and talk about really important issues that have to be discussed, then so much more can get done."

So, it doesn't look like we'll be seeing Kim K running against Trump for the 2020 election - but it sounds like she hasn't ruled out the idea yet. Who knows - maybe by 2024 we'll be seeing the 'Kampaign' in full swing?
