It's hard to tell exactly what is going on in a relationship, even when you're close friends with the couple you don't see what happens behind closed doors. When it's someone you've never met and have never had any interaction with, there's even less chance you'll know what's going on. But it's a little different with celebrities, especially those that spend a lot of time on social media.

The Kardashian-Jenner family have made a successful empire over just this, with so much of their lives documented for fans and other curious internet users browsing Instagram or Twitter. That means that while we don't know exactly what's going on, we can get a good idea that, for instance, Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott's relationship is doing pretty well at the moment.

Scott and Jenner have been dating since 2017, and they seemed to be moving pretty fast. They both gained even more attention when Kylie pretty much disappeared from social media towards the end of the year, before returning months later with news that they'd had a baby together, the now nine-month-old Stormi.

However, things looked like they were about to take a darker turn recently, when photos started circulating of Travis with another woman.

Given the fact his face was obscured, many assumed they were fake - but that doesn't mean they didn't kick up a storm online. Scott was quick to respond, commenting on an Instagram fan page to say "me and my wifey sturdy" and "only got love for my wife" (a nickname, they're not really - or officially - married).

He then took to his Instagram story to deny it again, saying "Trolls always wanna create some fake shit to destroy real love".

Then it turned out that the whole thing was just a prank pulled off to "fool the internet," which - if it was trying to make a point - was only letting us in on a secret that we all know already: that some people will believe anything they see on the internet.

The whole family was pretty angry about what went down, including, of course, Kylie herself. On her Instagram stories she pointed out that, while she never doubted Travis, she thinks those involved should have cared that they were "messing with real people".

"Idk if this is really a social experiment to some people but you're messing with real people, real relationships, real family. I'm happy my relationship is strong because this is getting out of hand. The internet scares me sometimes for real."

Kylie's half-sisters Kim and Khloé also commented on the prank, with Kim calling it " absolutely disgusting" and Khloé saying that they should be "ashamed."

While their celebrity status may make you think Travis and Kylie are fair game for this sort of thing, as people it must be pretty stressful having people manipulate and mess with your relationship from the outside.
