Khloé Kardashian's love life was thrown into uncertainty once again this week, when it was alleged that her partner Tristan Thompson had been caught cheating with Kylie Jenner's best friend, Jordyn Woods .

However, one person wasn't afraid to crack a joke before the dust had settled, and that was Sarah Hyland.

Soon after the news broke online, the Modern Family star took to social media to pun on the situation, much to the amusement of many of her followers. "Seems like Khloe is finally out of the Woods... that was too soon. I apologize," she wrote on Twitter.

Soon enough, Sarah's fans had joined her in making wisecracks, with one writing "She might have been out of the Woods, but Tristan was definitely IN the Woods". Other people praised her for her joke, with one putting: "Not all heroes wear capes."

However, there were plenty of people online who felt the actress was being insensitive to Khloé's pain, with some even accusing Sarah of bullying.

"This is NOT uplifting other women! You should be ashamed of yourself. I would hope something like this doesn’t happen to you," wrote one person.

Others pointed out that Sarah had spoken out against online bullying in the past, and named her a hypocrite, with one stating: "Completely agree. She’s preaching that online bullying is unacceptable and has had suicidal thoughts due to it. Then she does this? Hypocrite much? No need."

Another added: "No need to make jokes at the expense of another woman’s pain for the sake of likes. Didn’t you say online bullying affected you? How is this any better?"

Yesterday, TMZ broke the news that Khloé had broken up with Tristan after he had reportedly been spotted "making out" with Jordyn at a house party, with her then apparently staying at his place until 7am the next morning.

If the news is to be believed, it's not the first time the NBA champion has been unfaithful. Last year, a video of him getting cosy with two girls in a nightclub surfaced around the same time Khloé gave birth to the couple's daughter, True.

A report from The Sun has claimed that the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star suspected her boyfriend was cheating, but had no idea it was with Kylie Jenner’s best friend.

"Khloe and Tristan have had a rocky relationship since he was last caught cheating when she was pregnant – I don’t know if she ever trusted him 100 per cent after that," a source close to the family allegedly told The Sun Online. "They’d been on and off for months, sometimes not even living in the same house."

They continued:

"Khloe would hear rumours but she was desperate to make things work with Tristan for their daughter True’s sake. She had no idea that anything was going on between Tristan and Jordyn – she’d actually asked Jordyn to keep an eye on Tristan when they went out, so the reports they’d made out at a house party came as a huge shock. She now suspects that something could have been going on for a while and it wasn’t a one-off. Things like that don’t just happen."
