Zoë Kravtiz posts moving birthday tribute to 'papabear' Jason Momoa
Jason Momoa is kind of an internet favourite by this point. He had plenty of acting credits to his name, starring on TV shows such as Stargate Atlantis and Baywatch before he landed his breakout role as Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones; but now, with his own superhero movie, Aquaman, on its way later this year - he's hitting the big time.
However, as is the case with a lot of actors and celebrities, a lot of the attention from fans is directed at their social media. Momoa has a pretty great Instagram game, helped in no small part by the appearances of the likes of Emilia Clarke and other previous Game of Thrones co-stars. I mean, just look at the crazy night out he had with the stars and creators of the show in Ireland earlier this year:
One part of Momoa's life that he keeps relatively private is his relationship to actress Lisa Bonet. The two keep things out of the public eye for the most part, which is impressive given they have been together in 2005 - and especially given the amount of attention Bonet got both for her own career and her previous relationship with Lenny Kravitz.
The husband and wife have been together for over twelves years now, but they only legally married in October last year. “Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet had an official wedding a few weeks ago at their house in Topanga, California,” an inside source told US Weekly at the time. “Apparently they weren’t officially married until then! They said they ‘made it official.’”
Later, Momoa spoke about their relationship when he appeared on James Corden's The Late Late Show, explaining how they came to get together. "Finally man," the actor said. "Ever since I was like, eight years old and I saw her on the TV, I was like, "Mommy, I want that one."
"I’m like, 'I’m going to stalk you for the rest of my life and I’m going to get you.' I’m a full-fledged stalker'. I didn’t tell her that until we had two babies, otherwise, I’d be creepy and weird.
"But yeah, [I’d] just always wanted to meet her. She was a queen, always."
Since he started dating Bonet, Momoa has also bonded with her daughter, actress Zoë Kravitz. Both Jason and Zoë even have matching tattoos, which read "etre toujours ivre" (roughly translated to "be always drunk").
You can see how close he is in the photos they occasionally share, including this snap Zoë took of Lisa, Jason, and their two kids on Instagram.
Jason and Zoë were recently seen together at San Diego Comic Con, which Momoa was attending to promote the upcoming Aquaman movie. Zoë accompanied Jason on the red carpet, and hung out around the convention with him and his two children, Nakoa-Wolf and Lola.
So, it's fair to say that the pair are close, and not surprising that she shared a sweet birthday message for the actor on Wednesday.
"Love you papabear. Happy birthday ya rascal," Zoë wrote in the caption to the adorable selfie. Jason then commented, "Love u bear," on the photo. What a great stepdaughter-stepfather pair they are!
