The Game of Thrones finale was undoubtedly was one of the most-watched television events ever, finally concluding one of the densest and complex fantasy stories of all time. Spoilers ahead for those who haven't caught up yet.

After Daenerys Targaryen lost her mind through grief and alienation, she made the controversial decision to brutally slaughter the innocent civilians of King's Landing and kill a number of important cast members, including fan favourites Jamie and Cersei Lannister. As a result of her violent behaviour and lack of remorse, Jon Snow personally murdered her in the throne room of the Red Keep.

So did the finale deliver the way we were all hoping it would? Well ... not exactly sadly. Although many have expressed satisfaction with the show's conclusion, a vocal segment of the fandom is apparently pretty disappointed by how it all wrapped up, and they haven't been shy about sharing those feelings on social media either.
