The tension was palpable during Sunday night's Super Bowl showdown, especially as the Kansas City Chiefs clinched victory with a last-second touchdown in overtime.

Amid the nail-biting moments, one moment that caught viewers' attention was when star player Travis Kelce was captured on camera in a heated exchange with coach Andy Reid.

If you'd like a reminder of what went down between Kelce and Reid, wait no further...

The action on the field intensified during the second quarter as the Kansas City Chiefs trailed 3-0 against the San Francisco 49ers. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes showcased his prowess with an impressive 52-yard pass to Mecole Hardman, positioning the Chiefs within striking distance of the end zone.

Check out the moment Kelce screamed at his coach:

Following Mahomes' remarkable throw, the ball was handed off to running back Pacheco. However, the momentum shifted when 49ers defensive back Deommodore Lenior executed a crucial play, forcing a fumble by knocking the ball out of Pacheco's grasp.

Amid the scramble for the loose ball, 49ers defensive tackle Javon Hargrave emerged victorious, securing possession for the 49ers. This pivotal turnover set the stage for a controversial incident between Kelce and Reid as a decision was made to sideline Kelce, much to the tight end's dismay.

Kelce proceeded to yell at and shove the coach, with lip readers claiming Kelce told Reid: “Hey, come on, you f***er, put me on” and “Keep me in. You f***er! I’m calm now!”

Following the game, both Reid and Kelce addressed the incident. Reid emphasized Kelce's passion for the game, stating per ESPN's Adam Teicher: "The part I love is he loves to play the game, and he wants to help his team win. It's not a selfish thing, that's not what it is, and I understand that."

Reid also lightened the mood with a quip, joking: "He keeps me young. Tested that hip out. He caught me off balance, normally I'd give him a little bit, but I didn't have any feet under me."

Kelce, when asked about the moment, kept it light-hearted, saying: "Oh you guys saw that? Man, it was...I'm going to keep that between us unless my mic’d up tells the world, but I was just telling him how much I love him."

He praised Reid as "the greatest coach this game has ever seen" and commended his leadership.

A source close to the situation told Page Six that Kelce's actions stemmed from his passion for the game, stating: "He's just a passionate player and everyone’s on edge. It’s the Super Bowl! But there was no mal-intent. He respects Coach Reid. It’s really just about the passion of the game. It wasn’t anything serious."
