If you need proof that emerging victorious at the Super Bowl truly is the most important thing to NFL players, then look no further.
Travis Kelce may have been showing a lot of love to Taylor Swift recently, but he lost his cool with Andy Reid as his team falls behind to the San Francisco 49ers. Check out the moment below:
During the second quarter of the Super Bowl, tensions ran high on the sideline as Travis Kelce expressed his frustration after the Kansas City Chiefs fumbled the ball in the red zone, nearly knocking coach Andy Reid off balance in the process.
The incident unfolded after K.C.'s star running back Isiah Pacheco turned over the ball deep in the San Francisco 49ers' territory, a play Kelce witnessed from the sidelines.
Clearly displeased, the NFL superstar let out his frustration by yelling inches away from his coach's face, with girlfriend Taylor Swift observing from her suite. Kelce also vented his frustration by slamming his helmet in the heat of the moment.
And many viewers weren't impressed, taking to X to comment on the moment.
"Should be ejected. No place for this in the NFL," one person wrote, with a second adding: "That guy needs to be sitting on the bench... he doesn't have respect for his coach."
"He needs to be benched for the rest of the game. Period," one viewer tweeted. "I'm a huge KC & Kelce fan too. No excuse for that."
"What a disrespectful spoiled brat," another X user branded Kelce.
Another quipped: "They should have showed Taylor’s reaction after this" - referencing Kelce's ongoing relationship with songstress Taylor Swift.
Of course, despite many viewers being left unimpressed by Kelce blowing up at his coach, the pair have a longstanding relationship.
Kelce and Reid go way back - to when both joined the organization in 2013. With both men considered future Hall of Famers, such sideline outbursts are not entirely unheard of for Kelce, who famously lost his cool during a Christmas day game against the Raiders.
As the game progressed, tensions remained palpable, with both teams' star players making crucial mistakes. Despite Kelce's sideline antics, the 49ers managed to take the lead with a 10-0 score after Christian McCaffrey scored a touchdown late in the first half.
While Kelce had been relatively subdued on the field, aside from his sideline outburst, catching just one ball for one yard, it remains to be seen if the incident will fuel his performance as the game progresses.
